Goodman Ray is an award winning Family Law firm situated in central London.

We have a vacancy for a full time experienced family law legal PA to work for a partner and a solicitor alongside paralegals, and administration staff.

The firm requires hardworking and dedicated people who will work within a team and who should also:

  • Have excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise to work to deadlines;
  • Be adaptable and flexible with a willingness to take on additional tasks and assist others when required;
  • Be able to effectively manage own workload and work independently as well as part of a team;
  • Pay attention to detail and accurate typing skills;
  • Demonstrate a positive and can-do attitude;
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Have excellent IT skills, experience of Tikit would be an advantage.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Providing comprehensive and efficient support to a busy partner and solicitor; 
  • Organising, arranging and diarising appointments;
  • Managing fee earner’s diary in relation to deadlines and daily reminders;
  • Opening files and carrying out AML checks including conflict checks;
  • Archiving files in accordance with SRA rules in case management system;
  • Liaising with LAA as requested to make/chase up applications; applying for payments on account and changes to certificate scope or limitations;
  • Arranging appointments and meetings with clients, counsel, professionals etc;
  • Obtaining information about availability, fees etc from counsel’s clerks;
  • Booking counsel, solicitor advocates and/or clerks and occasional outdoor clerking;
  • Keeping case management systems up to date;
  • Carrying out specific pieces of work on solicitors’ files under supervision;
  • Assisting solicitors in the preparation of cases including taking instructions and drafting documents and managing such cases under supervision;
  • Preparing monthly bills, including speaking to clients about making payments on account;
  • Obtaining disbursement invoices and filing on case management system;
  • Preparing, paginating and finalising court bundles;
  • Following court cases and latest court decisions;
  • Updating case tracker;
  • Maintaining and updating database on case management system;
  • Covering team members including reception from time to time.
