Hattie is a committed family solicitor with a particular interest in international children work. She has experience of a range of children law cases, including advising in relation to the recognition of foreign adoption orders, parental order applications and applications for declarations of legal parenthood where children have been conceived using donor sperm. She has also acted for parents in contact disputes, including where families are affected by domestic violence. Hattie has worked on a number of reported cases, including Re B (A child) [2016] UKSC 4 (an appeal to the Supreme Court regarding the jurisdiction of the English courts in relation to a child removed to Pakistan), KB and RJ [2016] (Rev 1) EWHC 760 (Fam) and Re the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 2008 (Cases P, Q, R, S, T, U, W and X) [2016] EWHC 2273 (Fam).
Hattie did her first degree at the University of Cambridge and post-graduate legal qualifications at City University and BPP in London. She qualified as a solicitor in 2011 and spent 4 years specialising in tax and trusts law in the Private Client department of a major City firm before joining Goodman Ray in 2015.
