Gwen Williams is to take on the role of managing partner of Goodman Ray from 1st May 2016. This is a new role created as a result of the expansion of Goodman Ray as a firm.

Gwen joined Goodman Ray in 2001 and moved into a partnership role with Peggy in 2006. They moved the firm from its original base in Dalston to new offices in Old Street in 2010 and made the decision to turn GR into an LLP in 2013.

Over the years, GR has expanded and now has a team of 30 staff . The fee earners carry caseloads of complex and challenging family work. The role of Managing Partner has been created to meet the challenge of running an efficient firm committed to providing a service of the highest standard to all its clients. Gwen will continue with her work of representing children in complex care proceedings as well as continuing to mentor the other solicitors in Goodman Ray. She says “This is an exciting time for Goodman Ray as we continue to represent parents and children and move into new areas of work like surrogacy, fertility and all aspects of modern family life. I am proud of being part of one of the few law firms in the country that was owned and run by women. The firm has evolved and expanded over the last 30 years and continues to show its ability for innovative and excellent legal work. I am looking forward to the challenge of ensuring that Goodman Ray’s practice remains efficient and works to the advantage of clients.”
